Where is the Private Rainforest Refuge?
The Private Rainforest Refuge is located within the 300-hectare Amazon Emotions Reserve, near Presidente Figueiredo. It is approximately two hours from Manaus by road.
Surrounded by protected rainforest, waterfalls, caves and forest trails, the Refuge offers a secluded Amazon experience while remaining easily accessible from Manaus.
How do I get there from Manaus?
Transfers from Manaus are organised according to your confirmed itinerary. The journey takes approximately two hours by road.
As you leave Manaus, the urban landscape gradually gives way to the forests, rivers and waterfalls of Presidente Figueiredo. Transfer details and pick-up arrangements are confirmed before your stay.
Is the Refuge completely private?
Yes. The Private Rainforest Refuge welcomes only one reservation at a time.
The accommodation, social areas and experiences are reserved exclusively for you and your companions. There are no other guests sharing the property during your stay.
This allows you to experience the Amazon with greater privacy, flexibility and freedom.
How many guests can stay at the Refuge?
The Refuge accommodates up to eight guests and is ideal for couples, families and small private groups.
Because we accept only one reservation at a time, the experience remains personal and exclusive regardless of your group size.
Is there air conditioning and Wi-Fi?
Yes. The suites have air conditioning, allowing you to rest comfortably after exploring the rainforest.
Wi-Fi is also available at the Refuge, although connectivity in remote rainforest areas may occasionally vary.
Are there many mosquitoes?
The Refuge is located in upland rainforest rather than a seasonally flooded area. As a result, the Amazon Emotions Reserve generally has fewer mosquitoes than many floodplain regions of the Amazon.
However, insects are a natural part of the rainforest ecosystem. We recommend bringing insect repellent and using it when necessary.
What wildlife might I see?
The Amazon Emotions Reserve is home to monkeys, sloths, toucans, parrots, frogs, reptiles, butterflies, insects and many other rainforest species.
Wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed because the animals live freely in their natural habitat. However, private exploration with experienced guides provides excellent opportunities to observe wildlife and identify tracks, calls and other signs of animal activity.
What is included in my stay?
Your stay generally includes private accommodation, all meals, selected beverages, guided rainforest experiences and exclusive use of the Refuge.
Transfers from Manaus are included according to your confirmed itinerary. Optional activities or additional excursions are quoted separately when applicable.
Your final itinerary will clearly specify everything included before confirmation.
Can my Amazon itinerary be customised?
Yes. Every stay is private, which gives us the flexibility to adapt your experience to your interests, preferred pace and physical abilities.
You might choose active days of hiking and exploration, focus on wildlife and photography, spend more time at waterfalls or simply enjoy a slower rhythm in the forest.
Activities may also be adjusted according to weather and rainforest conditions.
When is the best time to visit the Amazon?
The Private Rainforest Refuge can be experienced throughout the year. Each season reveals a different side of the rainforest.
Rainfall, temperatures, wildlife activity and forest conditions naturally vary throughout the year. Rather than defining one season as the best, we recommend choosing your travel dates according to the experiences that interest you most.

How active is the experience?
Your stay can be as active or relaxed as you wish.
Experiences range from wildlife observation, gentle forest walks and time at waterfalls to longer hikes, cave exploration and tree climbing.
Because the Refuge is private, we can adapt the pace and activities to your interests and physical abilities.
Do I need to be very fit?
No. You do not need to be an experienced hiker to enjoy the Private Rainforest Refuge.
Many experiences can be adapted to different fitness and mobility levels. More demanding activities, such as longer hikes or tree climbing, are optional.

Is it safe to visit the Amazon rainforest?
Exploring a rainforest requires local knowledge, preparation and respect for the environment.
Your activities are planned and accompanied by experienced guides who understand the terrain, weather and conditions of the forest. We also provide practical information before your arrival so you know what to expect and how to prepare.
As with any nature-based journey, conditions can change. Activities may therefore be adapted when necessary.
Can children stay at the Private Rainforest Refuge?
Yes. The Refuge can be a rewarding experience for families who want to discover the Amazon together.
Because every stay is private, activities can be adapted to the children’s ages, interests and abilities. Some activities may have age, height or physical requirements for safety reasons.

What should I pack for the Amazon rainforest?
Bring lightweight, breathable clothing, comfortable walking shoes, sandals, swimwear, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent and a light rain jacket.
We also recommend binoculars, a camera, a small daypack and a reusable water bottle.
